MAIN STREET VIRTUAL CAR FREE DAY FESTIVAL
Sunday, June 21st 2020 / 12pm to 7pm / Online
We acknowledge that the Main Street Car Free Day event organises on the unceded, occupied, ancestral and traditional lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We further acknowledge this year's festival takes place on National Indigenous Peoples Day, and we encourage our attendees, especially settler attendees, to learn about and celebrate the unique histories and cultures of Indigenous peoples of this region we call home. Car Free Day stands in solidarity with land defenders and all Indigenous peoples rightfully occupying their territories.
The Main Street festival brings together local business owners, community organizations, artists and volunteers to seed the idea of building a better, more livable city that focuses on people and not cars.
This year we've moved to a virtual format to keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Explore the festival with the interactive map, check out some performers, and participate in our virtual scavenger hunt to win great prizes!
