We would like to thank all of you for participating in and supporting Car Free Vancouver Day 2012! We thank you for your presence, for bringing merriment to the festivals, and for being so generous with your creativity, time, gifts-in-kind and other donations. We couldn’t have done it without you.
In particular, we would like to thank Doug and the team at City of Vancouver Cultural Services for their support with the Community and Neighbourhood Arts Development Program, Tree Brewing, The Still Brandworks, Colour Time Printing and Digital Imaging, Guayaki Yerba Mate and Mills Basics for contributions supporting all 2012 festival sites. We also give thanks to the many organizations, businesses and individuals that supported individual festivals. You can find a complete list of these thank yous on the festival web pages: Commercial Drive, Kitsilano, Main Street and West End.
We hope you had a fantastic day on June 17th visiting the car-free festivals around the city. If you enjoyed Car Free Vancouver Day and would like to see it continue in the future, we strongly encourage you to tell the Mayor and Vancouver City Council (please send a copy of your messages to firstname.lastname@example.org). Car Free Vancouver Day is 100% volunteer organized and run. Your support, in the form of emails and letters to the City and donations to the Car Free Vancouver Society, have a huge impact and will help us bring back the festival next year.
We would love to hear from you if you want to see Car Free Vancouver Day in your neighbourhood next year or if you’re interested in joining the Car Free Vancouver Society’s organizing teams. Please contact us at: email@example.com.
Finally, a big thanks to all of you who snapped photos at our festival sites, and particularly to those of you who used a Creative Commons license that allows us to share your images. If you would like to show us your photos, we encourage you to join one or more of our Flickr groups:
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
