Kitsilano Car-Free Block Parties Day: June 14, 2009
In 2008, Kitsilano held its first-ever Car-Free Block Parties Day to an overwhelming response - 20 block parties! This year we hope to double that number, and we need your help.
If you are interested in hosting a party on your block, go here to find out how. It’s easy, and we’ll help you get it off the ground!
Better yet, meet us at the Kitsilano Farmers Market Sunday June 7th and we’ll walk you through the whole process (at Kits Community Centre).
Block parties are as individual as the people who host them, and everyone enjoys that car-free feeling when they get together with other neighbours and celebrate in the street.
For information on fun party activities, as well as tips to make sure your block party runs smoothly, download the party toolkit or get in touch with us directly: kitsilano@carfreevancouver.org or call Mel Lehan at 604.731.0599.
You don’t have to live in a block of single family homes to host or take part in a block party. People in apartment towers, townhouses and condos have them too!
We’re looking forward to seeing you again on June 14th!
