Kitsilano Block Parties are held over Car Free Vancouver weekend, Saturday June 17 & Sunday June 18, 2017
Occupied by young urban professionals and families, Kitsilano has a modern, relaxed atmosphere. With beaches, attractions, shopping and dining, the area has a lot to offer.
Kitsilano does something different for Car Free Day. Instead of closing off a major street, people throughout Kits host block parties with their neighbours. The block parties are as individual as the people who pull them together. Some have dancing, some have music, some have couches, chairs and carpets in the middle of the street and some share chips and a drink together! All of them are a fun, relaxing chance to hang out with the people who live in your neighbourhood.
Your Kitsilano Block Party
You can host your own block party and get involved in the fun! Check out our Block Party Checklist page to see what's involved in having a party on your block.
And be sure to check out Greening Your Block Party to make it a green success!
The Car Free Day Kitsilano block parties are made possible by Car Free Vancouver Society, a Vancouver Foundation Neighbourhood Small Grant, City of Vancouver, Block Party Hosts and Volunteers. This Neighbourhood Small Grant project was funded by the Vancouver Foundation and administered by Kitsilano Neighbourhood House.
Thank you Whole Foods Market Kitsilano for being an active participant in Kitsilano Block Parties and providing block party goodie bags.
We also extend a huge thank you to the Kits block parties' core volunteers who make this exciting event happen every year as well as the hosts who bring their neighbours together to party on the streets.
