This project has been conceived and designed with the support and advice of the City Special Events Office. Much thanks is owed to Dave Reiberger who has been behind us since the very beginning.

This is a genuinely grassroots event, and although the city has generously helped us through the Celebrations Grant program, we have no sponsors, just supporters.

We do not accept corporate sponsorships, we have no banner sponsors, and we are not interested in this becoming an advertising opportunity for anyone. This is about taking over the streets and reclaiming them for neighbourhoods.

What we do have are thousands of supporters. Our festivals are always funded primarily by residents and small businesses who participate in the fests, and to pull this off as a major city-wide event we only need a small amount of core support. Our policy is that everyone who gives us more than $100 will equally receive our gratitude with their logo or name on the website and all promotional materials and posters that go out.
